STARTEK CONTRIBUTES TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF DECATUR AND MACON COUNTY DECATUR, IL (July 18, 2003) – StarTek, Inc. (NYSE: SRT) today contributed $15,000 to the Economic Development Corporation of Decatur and Macon County. The check was presented by Lance Zingale, StarTek’s Chief Operating Officer, to Kenneth Smithmier, Chairman of EDC’s Board of Directors. Mr. Zingale said, “We are delighted to be part of the Decatur business community. We opened a new teleservices facility in May and now employ over 200 people servicing an international wireless telecommunications client. One of StarTek’s Shared Values is ‘commitment to the communities in which we are located,’ not only by providing quality employment but by being a contributing member of the community. StarTek’s gift to the Economic Development Corporation reflects that commitment.”
In May 2003, StarTek opened a customer contact center in Decatur to support the Company’s growing teleservices business. The center is located in a 37,500 square foot facility in the Fairview Plaza. By fall 2003, StarTek expects the facility to operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. |
