STARTEK OPENS ITS DECATUR TELESERVICES FACILITY Adding 200 Agent Seats For Future Expansion
DECATUR, IL (August 1, 2003) - StarTek, Inc. (NYSE: SRT) today announced the opening of a customer care and technical support contact center in Decatur, Illinois to support the Company's growing teleservices business. StarTek has hired over 200 employees for this site which is located in a 37,500 square foot facility in the Fairview Plaza. StarTek will operate the facility 24 hours per day, 7 days per week starting August 3, 2003. The Grand Opening Ceremony, which was held today, was attended by Bill Meade, StarTek's President and CEO, as well as Paul Osborne, Mayor of the City of Decatur, Craig Coil, CEO of the Decatur Economic Development Corporation, and Jack Lavin, Director, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Mr. Meade said in prepared remarks to the gathering, "We are delighted to be part of the Decatur business community. We opened a new teleservices facility in Decatur in May and now employ over 200 people servicing an international wireless telecommunications client. 'Performance in our Decatur facility has been superb. We built out the facility's infrastructure in 53 days, equipped it with state-of- the-art telecommunications equipment, and trained over 200 service representatives. Our agents met their service level agreements in record time. 'As a result, I am pleased to announce that StarTek is expanding this facility with approximately 200 additional agent seats in anticipation of future business.
