NSR Technologies Announces New Facility in Decatur Decatur, IL –

The Economic Development Corporation of Decatur and Macon County (EDC) announced today that New Jersey based NSR Technologies, Inc., has selected Decatur as the site for a new state of the art manufacturing facility. Principals of the company plan to invest approximately $7.5 million to construct and equip the facility which will manufacture hydrochloric acid and potassium hydroxide. The products will be sold commercially throughout the Midwest and will include some local customers. NSR will initiate the construction of its flagship facility in Decatur, Illinois this spring.

NSR is an innovative company dedicated to providing the highest grade products and value-added services to its customers.  Founded in 2001, NSR’s core business is the production and sale of commodities to diverse customers from state-of-the art manufacturing facilities, which employ the company’s innovative, environmentally-friendly and energy efficient technology processes. “We welcome NSR Technologies to our community and are pleased that they chose to do business here in Decatur,” stated Mayor Paul Osborne. “This is one more example that Decatur is moving in the right direction,” Osborne added.

“This project will bring new research and development operations and approximately 30 new high technology and manufacturing jobs to Decatur and Macon County,” said Craig Coil, President of the EDC. “The EDC has worked with NSR Technology over the past three years to bring this project to fruition and we are pleased they have chosen us for their investment.”

Coil added, “Utilizing a team approach and a unified development strategy in Decatur and Macon County has paid many dividends in the past few years and NSR is just one more example of the success we are seeing. From coordination of financial support to extension of the Enterprise Zone to accommodate the project, the EDC and our partners at the City of Decatur, Macon County and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity have been with us every step of the way. The Economic Development Corporation of Decatur and Macon County is a nonprofit public-private partnership responsible for non-retail business attraction, expansion and retention efforts in Decatur and Macon County. In the last two years alone, the EDC has worked with local, state and federal partners to access nearly $25 million in assistance to local employers. The EDC has also facilitated projects which have resulted in the creation and/or retention of over 2,200 jobs and private sector capital investments of more than $50 million. These efforts have resulted in the Decatur MSA seeing one of the largest 18 month decreases in unemployment rates of any metro area in the state.
