Decatur Macon County Enterprise Zone Process Guide January 2008 | | Effective July 1, 1983, the State of Illinois designated 9.3 square miles in Decatur as an Enterprise Zone for a term of 20 years. As of July 1, 2003, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) extended the life of the Decatur Macon County Enterprise Zone for an additional 10 year term. | |

 DECATUR - A project to test carbon dioxide storage capacity deep below Archer Daniels Midland Co.'s campus in Decatur is scheduled to begin this spring. The company will announce today a partnership with the Midwest Geological Sequestration Consortium, which is led by the Champaign-based Illinois State Geological Survey, to work on the $84.3 million project. |
